Prepare for ASHRAE Standard 241
In July 2023, ASHRAE published Standard 241 Control of Infectious Aerosols. The new standard's Normative Appendix C lists DNA-tagged particles, a methodology pioneered by SafeTraces, as a qualified tracer particle to meet the requirement in-place testing of equivalent clean airflow.
Below are 3 ways to prepare for the new standard:
- Assess your current HVAC performance to understand the system's effectiveness in mitigating pathogen risk
- Evaluate your options to meet the new compliance requirements: increase airflow, add in-room mitigation, and/or potentially reduce occupancy rates.
- Plan your path forward to operate code-compliant, safe, and sustainable facilities.
