Ernest (Chip) R. Blatchley III is the Lee A. Rieth Professor in Environmental Engineering at Purdue University, where he holds a joint faculty appointment in the Lyles School of Civil Engineering and the Division of Environmental & Ecological Engineering. He teaches and conducts research in the area of physico/chemical processes of environmental engineering, with particular focus on photochemical reactor theory, photochemistry, and photobiology. He has published more than 120 papers in the refereed literature and has recently published the book Photochemical Reactors: Theory, Methods, and Applications of Ultraviolet Radiation (Wiley, 2023).
